About the event
Chicago South Side Birth Center is a non-profit startup that will be an independent, Black midwife-led center located on the South Side of Chicago. It will be a space for collective community healing, joy, and liberation. One of our focuses is to offer education, resources, community groups, and holistic complementary therapeutic services.
We believe that communities of color deserve deeply intentional support on their breast/chest feeding journeys. In honor of Black Breastfeeding Week we will be holding our very first stroll entitled "Latch & Stroll: Black Breastfeeding Week 2022". This stroll will highlight the disparities of breastfeeding rates in Black communities and uplift the people and organizations providing resources and support to families wanting to provide their little ones with human milk.
